Watching TV and especially from the news channels one would think Gaza is now a done deal, holidays here we come! The BBC, the woke TV/Radio channel from the UK is showing people and reporters continually highlighting the need for this and that. Yes, it is extremely sad to see the suffering. But can I ask one question? Who started all of this? Obviously before the October 7 rampage the situation had been festering nicely for some time. To be fair the UK should look at how it performs on the world stage. The politics of the western sphere should be looked at since it is wanting. We see the grandstanding of the Americans. We hear lovely words such as ‘The war is over, I made peace’, all without any shred of evidence or even hard facts! So, what is very likely happening soon, the POTUS will return to his gold plated toilet seat in the not so White House and will forget about the whole thing. Do people, humans, ever learn their lessons? Such as something nasty happens, we deal with it and problem’s gone away. Or has it? In most cases the immediate problem seems to have been solved but the underlying causes are still present. Take the Thirties, the poverty and also the American excesses of Wall Street and it’s collapse. Did we learn anything? Looking at the incredible debt levels of most western countries, one would seriously doubt we have learned anything. Take the Gaza problem, was it avoidable? Possibly not as population growth and limited space reminds me of that rat experiment I have mentioned before a few times. Where initially plenty of space and food culminated in explosive population growth, just as in Gaza. Then the rats started on each other, world war 10. In Gaza Hamas did not turn on to themselves but on the nearest population. But did we learn anything from the causes, the reasons of why these things happen time and time again? The Gaza problem might lessen now...

Compared to other European countries, like Finland, Estonia, Poland, those bordering or very close to Russia; we are here in the UK still thinking the sea will save us. Forgetting of course that todays warfare does not seem to use human bodies so much. Except of course as casualties. Drones, hypersonic missiles you name it, it all flies pretty fast. Thinking the sea will save us from invasion is wrong. There will be no invasion but we will still be flattened. The countries mentioned have understood that, plus that Russia today is not really interested in maintaining peace. It certainly tries without using soldiers on foot to disrupt, to destroy, to kill their believed to be adversaries. The countries of the eastern part of Europe have understood that scenario and have been training civilian reserves with weapons firing practice carried out on a monthly basis. The Ukraine war has been mentioned quite a number of times. Yet here there seems little worry about the reality of what is going on. In fact our politicians are very happy to have pictures taken with Zelensky in front of some rubble, shaking hands and promising undying support when in reality that support is woefully lacking. That may have something to do with our own unpreparedness. Let’s be fair we here in the UK have been reducing our armed forces for years, not only that but the top-brass is still fighting World War Two. Meaning they are still in the same frame of mind. Whilst everyone else is looking at the reality on the battlefield, drones and the way artillery is used. There is a lot of talk about NATO, but NATO is subdivided. Obviously because of the multitude of countries that are part of it. The nations that border Russia are busy updating their forces and pretty aware of what Russia is doing and how they are doing it, in Ukraine whilst others are watching. Also the American...

Perhaps it is high time to figure out whether Wales should be independent. To be fair being a member of the United Kingdom has not been too brilliant for the Principality. Having been mostly used as a ‘Get-Rich-Quick’ area for predominantly English investors. That however is not to say Wales can afford to be independent. At least not without vast tax rises. Although it might have to establish a harsh social security system. In other words, it would have to be very difficult to obtain the sort of benefits as we see today. One of those most wonderful sounding statements from politicians such as our knowledgeable PM is “ Making lives better for working people”. From where I am sitting that’s not very much then is it? The way our country is going and being governed there will be more and more people who are NOT working. One way or another, either being so-called “Unfit” or have the latest fad “Mentally unfit”. It doesn’t seem to bother them because loads more are in the waiting queue. We hear more and more of young people who just want to travel. Vietnam seems to be the place six-formers dream of.
