Who will fight? Who will stand?

Just wondering whether Rishi Sunak, the British PM, was surprised by the furore unleashed because of his plan to re-introduce National Service. The Noncers (those that say No) crept out from the woodwork everywhere. It is somewhat funny as I have mentioned the possibility some time ago, i.e we should re-introduce National Service. I think the great silent majority is all for it but of course the screaming blabbering idiots that now roam the electronic world are the only ones we hear. OK so you might be against but at least join a proper debate and point out the reasons why you thought it a bad idea. Frankly my own reasoning is as follows, and based on my own time in an European army. It does help in bringing silly boys together and instilling discipline. Not just the discipline in handling weapons although it is a part of it but discipline in behaviour towards others. It will also bring youth out of staring at a small screen for most of the day (and night!). Youth is becoming soft and

Snowflakes now? Yes, the UK is full of it..

It’s snowing again! Actually, it’s snowing every single day in Britain. What, you cannot see any? No, neither can I but it is snowing. It is snowing snowflakes. Human snowflakes. The latest example is the furore about Giovanni Pernice. Total example of an excellent dancer which means a very hard training slog carried out most days.To keep in the form he displays I believe he probably never sleeps but lives in his gymnasium. But yes, to get to his level there aren’t many choices. You either do the work or you’re just second-rate or no-rate at all. Yet here we have a couple of snowflakes who have complained his training was so, so, so hard. They had to cry every day, diggums! As a result after all that negative cr*p, Gio has decided he will be better off not competing in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ any more. This is yet another example of Snowflake Britain. A couple of ‘wet-behind-the ears’ wannabe starlets who liked the money on offer, to compete in one of the most successful TV series, fel

Integration? Assimilation? Take your pick...

Due to immigration the question of ethnicity rears up. That is not surprising as it is a difficult subject . For myself, having been born in the Netherlands people have asked in the past ‘How do you identify?’ I live in Wales and acquired British nationality some number of years ago. So, what does that make me? Welsh, English, British or Dutch? Well, I can answer that – ‘Cymro dw i’. No, if’s or but’, I am Welsh. And as a plus I can speak the language although due to few people around me who speak Welsh, I am not fluent. It is galling to learn that there are people who live in Wales blatantly only identify as ‘English only’. My gut reaction to that is – go back to England. Obviously it is not as simple as that but it is the overriding thought process of the English to think they are the masters. People, friends, let me tell you, those days are long gone! Forget about the Empire, in any case it was not all that brilliant either. Same as the Dutch, they keep on remembering Indonesia an

Degradation of the Environment? Noooh, really?

For some time now I have been worried about the degradation of our immediate environment. It is galling to have to admit that we, the very citizens, are guilty of fouling our nest. But also the failure of our elected councils to enforce the laws Westminster and themselves have made to ensure areas are fit to live in for all. This country and I will single out South Wales here, has been subjected to an onslaught of gigantic proportions. First of all the failure to deal properly with waste. Obviously our waste problem is not helped by the manufacturing processes producing enormous quantities of plastics. Not forgetting the growing electronic waste heaps. But it should have been obvious to the planning departments that burying waste in that quantity is never going to be good. There is a site behind my own house that was ‘heightened’ to provide space for treated wooden pallets to be stored prior to delivery to orders from local and national businesses. In order to do so a small local river

Eurovision? More Blurred Vision!

Not sure what most sane people would have thought about the Euro Song Festival, if you could have called it that. Contenders being disqualified for not being able to keep their opinions to themselves to the blatant political bias of singers, entourage and spectators. Plus of course that the woke attitudes of today were on top form. The winner a Swiss creature of undetermined gender – could have been a salamander viewing the gyrations - managed to blurt out a sequence of notes that had no resemblance to the proper key or tone! Viewing the complete performances I began to wonder if unbeknown to myself, I had been transported to another planet? You know that planet, it is in the constellation of Wokey, only 16 million light years away. The singing today seems to be more of a shouting match, who can do the loudest note? Oh I nearly forget, we also have to wear a dress, male or female. Yes, I know I live in the Victorian era. The foregone conclusion is – why do we have to pay for all of

Multi-culturalism? I eat my hat...

Over the last few years there has been a few words said about how illegal immigration, or should I say unbridled immigration, has changed our society, coupled with standards of living. Why is that so? Because standards of living are maintained by employment and unbridled importing of cheap labour undermined the levels of income. Obviously that did not happen everywhere all at once, nevertheless happen it did. Another aspect of this is how the Muslim world has infiltrated our western society. The majority of immigrants, lawfully or not, are Muslims. Even those who come from sub Sahara countries. These do not just bring their bodies, they bring their problems, their views, their expectations. They also do not want to change their lives, just only in the material sense. In other words they want to live financially better off but in their own societies, with their own people, their own religion, their own laws. There has been very little integration and assimilation. Some days ago on
