Aren't we doing well!

Reports are coming in a lot of the time about how insects are becoming scarcer. Well, it might explain why I no longer see swifts in the sky over the southern Rhondda. I noticed one barn swallow. I am told there are a few around the farm areas and woods but it is very, very few. What are we, humans doing to our planet? Are we so dumb? When looking around at the behaviour of a sizeable part of the local population I would say, yes, we are incredibly dumb. In fact I would say, idiots. Our youth cannot even look up into the sky, most cannot identify one bird from another. Every insect that walks or flies around must be killed just because another idiot said that they bear diseases. Well, may be so but it is the way the world operates. The truth is we are so changing, altering the living sphere that it favours those insects that really can harm us. Mosquitoes for instance, or in the past fleas, harbouring bubonic plague because we were dumb enough to drop all our waste, bodily waste included onto the streets. On top of that we lived so close together diseases had no problem jumping from one to one. Fleas, lice had a great time, I’m sure. Today we are beginning to replicate some of these instances. Fleas are still very much around, and waste dumping is a pandemic. It might not be bodily waste of humans but all around my area you may find little black plastic bags or red ones. Don’t pick them up, it’s dog sh*t. The real stuff. They even hang them in trees softly blowing in the wind, hanging there like Christmas decorations. Perhaps Poundstretchers will come up with some cheap Chinese LED lights to put into the bags so we can all enjoy them as we struggle back home from our nightly binge of 10 or more pints in the local Workmen’s club trying to convince the barmaid we are God’s gift to women.

Yes, dumb, but it is what we see day by day. In the meantime our world is disintegrating all around us and we are too preoccupied to notice. Also it is not just ordinary people, even government departments or organisations linked to government, water companies, gas, electric are all guilty of dumping stuff. Some legal some illegal. Our water courses are stinking, those who dare to swim end up with strange illnesses. The electricity industry is busy desecrating our country, gobbling up vast tracts of land once used for producing our food for the unsightly wind turbines. Gas exploration fouls the seas around our island. The government itself will start or has already started clearing land for house building needed to house thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants. Immigrants they have said for decades they will control, even stop. And we all think we are doing well? It will not be long before the whole rotten shambles collapses all together in one heap of stinking rubbish. When most of us will scrabble over the refuse heaps to look for what can still be used to build a tent. The power people will have left to those areas of the planet that has still some grass left. The moneyed have left for Mars with the good Elon Musk. Except he is the only one with breathing apparatus.
