THe UK a laughing stock? Noooh, really?

Can anyone tell me why the UK has become a laughing stock? The continual shuffling of ministers, it is like a sort of dance. The turfing out of students of paid-for accommodation in order to house migrants. Anything else? Oh yes, apparently according to the Sun Newspaper and that hilarious journo Rod Liddle, we are no longer allowed to sniff goshawks. As he said, he never knew that so he now has to stop an age long hobby of his! I applaud that because I used to sniff chickens and penguins but now prefer eagles. My neighbours sniff blackbirds but have asked the Council for help because they are so difficult to catch. So, my neighbours insist on a grant of £2,000,000 to provide them with housing where it would be easier to catch blackbirds. Yes, this country has gone to the dogs. Too many people sniffing them. By Jove, in fact to be more to the point, is it not time to look at the person who made the complaint about one BBC program with Chris Packham showing nature in all its glory to see whether he or she needs a spell in a psychiatric establishment? As a matter of fact I now believe that 30% or so of our population need psychiatric assessment. Or even a prolonged spell in an institution.Probably including the complete lot of BBC managers.

The other question needing to be asked is Grant Shapps, the proposed new Defence Secretary really up to that job? I am sure he is a nice guy, actually a very nice guy but defence, army and soldiers need someone who is NOT so nice but has a titanium backbone and hammer fists. We don’t need a sharp suited, blue tied, Etonesque lookalike. Expect our world wide reputation to go down some further couple of notches.

Then we have the everlasting problem of what to do with migrants. Furthermore, what are migrants supposed to be? I always thought migrants be unfortunates who managed to escape war-torn areas where their lives in one way or another were threatened. Whether they were alone or with family didn’t matter. But today we see mostly if not completely, young male migrants who are basically looking for a better life. On its own I don’t blame them for trying. But there should be proper channels to do so. Not allow total unregulated influx of human hopefuls who have been told paradise was just 22 miles across the water. These people are not entirely destitute either, nor did they escape a war-torn area.

Whatever the reasons for them to pick up sticks and move to another part of the world, there has to be some sort of control over it. Especially as global warming will make huge areas of the planet uninhabitable in the near future. This will just exacerbate the problem and not just for the UK either. It will be a problem, if not already, for the whole European continent (minus Russia and Belarus). This is one of the reasons why politicians are viewed in such a poor light. They just cannot get to grips with the realities the world throws at us. They think they are doing a good job but basically it is just a bit of tinkering around the edges. It is much like they are the orchestra playing on the Titanic as it was sinking. In short that is the situation we are facing.
