A political view - outlandish? Well...eh...is it?

How about that! The Americans, or rather the American president is selling out Ukraine. After a cosy telephone chat with Putin, it has been decided to throw the Ukraine to the wolves. Russia’s conquests will stay Russian and Zelensky will be declared a criminal. It seems to me that although I applauded Trump for his stance on all the woke business that has pervaded the western world, I do not think we can trust the Americans. If you do not dance to their tune, you are a dead duck! The United States is no longer the fighter for freedom unless it is theirs, anyone else can go fish (but not in the Pacific). More and more I want to see us here, the UK, take up the cudgel and form together with France and Germany the beginnings of a strong European army! But not to dismiss any other European nations. Nations like Sweden and even Italy. We can no longer depend on the US. Europe has to become the greatest power on the planet. The US is finished and on the decline. Now, I know it sounds the beginnings of a rant but seriously it is not. We simply must defend the Ukraine, or at least help them to defend themselves. Wholly and completely. Let us stop pretending the Russians count, they do not. The way I see it, the writing is on the wall for them just the same as it is for the US, these two are simply yesterday’s men.

It seems also that NATO, as we know it today is collapsing. At least on a political level. Trump is someone who allows no ‘foreign’ interference of any kind. He thinks he IS NATO. The facts are he is not. Even so, we must not forget that NATO as it was intended, has kept the peace in Europe for a long time now. The Russians and the Chinese as well are nations intent on supremacy. I wonder sometimes how the relations between Russia and China will develop. The Chinese presently are intent on taking on the US but that will end soon as Trump will find out, although not in his favour; I think afterwards they will have a go at the Russian empire. All in together I believe Europe has to set up its own equivalent of NATO, yes seriously! As mentioned we can no longer rely on the US to play its part. It will be costing billions but if we want to continue to live in a free, democratic country or countries then there is little choice. It has to be crystal clear that Russia’s ambitions are to go further than what it has done and still is doing to Ukraine. It will not stop there. In fact I would be going as far as declaring that Ukraine must be a nation that has nuclear weapons.

Sobering thought for sure, proliferation of weapons of such magnitude is not such a good thing but it has kept the world peace.

Have we still got Credit for the National Debt?

A few of my friends have said to me, ‘Like to read your comments’, and ‘ How can you believe all politicians are wasters or idiots?’ Well yes, good observation. Obviously not all politicians are wasters but when you view the national debt, now standing at I believe at over two trillion pounds you must ask yourself this question – Did I saddle the nation with that? No? OK then who did? You’re right, politicians. This pertains then to all because it is they who make the decisions. They will defend themselves by saying that all they do is in our best interests, but is that really true? Take the Covid debacle with PPI, millions if not billions, were wasted. Panic buying, bad decisions and more. Take the foreign aid budget, millions again sent to nations who have used it to finance their space programme. Or purchased weaponry. The millions wasted to finance the upkeep of immigrants coming in by the thousand without any reason whatsoever just because they have heard Britain is the new parad...

Tonyrefail going to jail!

Always I have my ears (and eyes) open to happenings around, especially the rumours that abound. One of these rumours is about a jail. The rumours say that the Welsh Government had written to all Welsh local authorities to find out possible locations etc. The only Authority replied was Rhondda Cynon Taf. Interesting? Of course it is because now my brain begins to tick over. I am sure that the Home Office and as a representative, the Welsh government would want easy access to the motorway system. Here comes the M4! Not too far from the conurbation (Cardiff/Newport/Swansea). So that means Central Eastern South Wales. Next would be land ready for building. Guess what?
