Infrastructure? What infrastructure...

This morning’s TV news is as per the usual an eye-opener on the incredible incompetency of our hallowed public servants. Whether elected or just employed they all seem to have gone to the same school. It was incredible to listen to the leader of Cardiff Council talking about there not being enough school places for the children. Really? No shit, baby. It is something people like myself have been saying for so long it has become a song. The problem is quite easy to see. Housebuilding by the thousands and when people have moved in there will be children. Either ready made or being born. You know what they say – new house, new child! Might be something to do with the soothing noise of the Air source heat pump I suppose. Time and again the same problem surfaces, the lack of infrastructure. It is fine to build houses but what about the services that will be needed? The shallow thinking is so pathetic it is akin to the American White House style. Are these the people leading our civilisation? It is like the Neanderthals have come back. And that’s doing an injustice to them! Perhaps it would be better to say the Australopithecus came back and never became extinct.

Duuuhhh. You literally see it everywhere. In my neck of the woods, we had built an excellent building to become the wonderful health centre. Staffed by 5 GP’s and nurses to deal with the aged and carry out services like controlling Type2 diabetics, blood tests and more. However, the reality very quickly showed up differently. The centre became dependent almost immediately on recently qualified doctors who were at the hospital five miles further away. We were lucky to have two medically qualified people at the centre at the same time and were lucky if they were there more than 3 days a week. To be fair it is a sign of the dearth of GPs in this country. The infrastructure is not up to scratch. Yet the hallowed Labour controlled Rhondda supremacy merrily carried on plonking houses all over the place. Even ignoring pipes in the ground or areas known as brown fields. Whole farms have been included in what is known as the Local Development Plans (LDPs).

Perhaps it is time for someone to start explaining to the Planning Department wallahs what the word ‘Infrastructure’ actually signifies? I believe people have to start talking about the awful sub-standard services that are now so prevalent everywhere. It is not sufficient to hear and see reports of situations like the Cardiff one where school places are needed. Action is needed one way or another. It is no good ordinary people to shrug their shoulder, harumphing and going back on their mobiles to see the latest price increases of their daily can of lager? Well, we can have a change this year, get the slackers out. Change the government and let’s get some action for once. I believe also we will be better off by sacking at least 50% of civil servants without any problems whatsoever. So, let’s do it!
