Watch out, the taxman cometh!

I t’s that time of year when the taxman wakes up. What I find disconcerting is the way people save and on some savings, say Bank interest for instance or savings put away in a Bond of some sort then are taxed at 20%. Although he taxman allows a paltry £1,000 free. So, a person puts hard-earned money away, perhaps over a life-time and then some of it get taxed! Of course there are savings systems that are free of tax and one would be well advised to take those. But it is not always convenient or possible. One can talk, even swear, about taxation but a valid question would be, what is done with all that tax? Does a country, it’s chosen leadership, spend it wisely? It ought to be obvious that taxation is a necessity, simply because as a society we need certain things. That is to say all of the people that live, resid ing in a nation. We need a certain amount of social care, we need to protect ourselves with an army and we need a number of people who lead the system and projects its cour...

Is it 1939 all over again?

W e, in the UK have to face up some facts. In fact, the whole western influence sphere, to name the US, the UK, the EU and their vassals need to face up to the same facts. These facts are very simple, we are re-enacting the 1930’s. OK, we have Starmer here trying his best to f*ck the UK but in the US we have a president who is beginning to sound much like Neville Chamberlain in 1939. We are all being goaded into another conflagration because of weak, powerless governments. It is shown through the behaviour of the autocratic countries, Russia, China and some others. It seems our pol i ticians, as I have said many, many times are powerless nobodies who pretend to know what’s going on. In reality they are only interested in easy solutions without any idea of the possible results. When Russia invaded a free country although not being part of the EU or NATO, all we heard from western governments was ‘We will install sanctions’. Oh, but did we? Really? Sure, some money from oligarchs was i...

Computer safe? Obviously, not quite...

S o, yeah, what can you say about these cyber attacks now happening? The cyber attacks against M&S, the CO-OP as well as Harrods and perhaps more to come? I am an avid computer user and I know one thing, or perhaps two things, the weakest part of a computer is the human banging on the keyboard. When you start looking how all the big systems work together, the main frames, the servers, the companies subbing services then you begin to see how it is possible a seventeen year old geek can subvert a bonafide company. Although in the case of these big stores there can be more at the heart of the matter. As was mentioned before if companies use software sources, or services from third parties you will broaden the possible attack front. Even users of VPNs might be wondering how safe they really are? I use VPNs but I also know a lot of them sell data! Now for most of us beer-swillers that does not matter a lot but some of us, in fact an increasing number, use banking and purchase from giant...

Aren't we doing well!

R eports are coming in a lot of the time about how insects are becoming scarcer. Well, it might explain why I no longer see swifts in the sky over the southern Rhondda. I noticed one barn swallow. I am told there are a few around the farm areas and woods but it is very, very few. What are we, humans doing to our planet? Are we so dumb? When looking around at the behaviour of a sizeable part of the local population I would say, yes, we are incredibly dumb. In fact I would say, idiots. Our youth cannot even look up into the sky, most cannot identify one bird from another. Every insect that walks or flies around must be killed just because another idiot said that they bear diseases. Well, may be so but it is the way the world operates. The truth is we are so changing, altering the living sphere that it favours those insects that really can harm us. Mosquito e s for instance, or in the past fleas, harbouring bubonic plague because we were dumb enough to drop all our waste, bodily waste in...

Eurovision? Binding us together? Eh...

W ell, the Eurovision Song Festival has passed. What can you say about it? What I can say and this view is held by many, it is an abysmal show of shouting and performing idiotic movements they call dancing. On top of that as I am British I can also say if we keep sending singers, single or in groups like we seem to do, we will never come to anything but last. There is a remarkable difference between quality of songs and reality. If we contrast songs by some like Adele, Ed Sheeran or even Dua Lipa and contrast that with what we sent then we shouldn’t really have bothered. Virtually the same can be said about most other entries. Some people might say, ‘Oh, he talks because he didn’t win’. Yes, I am British and I want to win! At everything. Including moronic festivals. I think enuf said, what? It also brings me to the political stand we seem to be taking today. We have had a referendum about whether we wanted in or out of the European Union. A majority voted ‘Out’. Why do we now allow th...

The next world power is...?

A s we here in Europe have been listening and digesting the words from a certain president of a western nation I think we can take from that certain conclusions. The first would be the talk about ‘upping’ nations that are members of NATO to spending 2% or more of their GDP on Defence. It is true that European nations including the UK have been decreasing their commitments for a number of years. Mainly spending their money on social experiments like free medical care. In the UK one of the largest amount of cash is spent on keeping a vast number of people out of work, in other words they are non-economic assets. Whether right or wrong, I am not particularly qualified to discuss but nevertheless it is a fact. On top of that certain policies made in response to doctrine or even dogmatic thinking of those in power, have basically ensured that certain countries are close to bankruptcy. I am not counting out the UK either! Rumours are now circulating on social media about the US thinking o...

Social derailment? It sure is...

I f we didn’t know already, a powerful editorial in the Sun newspaper about the bad situation in Britain will tell us the reason. Also myself have stated many times the dire quality of politicians and politics generally, the attitude problem our youth have and of course the never ending calamity of the illegal immigration. The so-called boat people, although I don’t like that term since you might get the idea we are talking about the canal boats. That is if the canals can get the water they need, which seems debatable nowadays. Politically speaking we have the duff Keir plodding over to the US to lick the ar**** of the Donald in the Oval Office all supervised by the champion drongo Vance. Enough said about that. Next Keir is going over to Ukraine basically to promise help, money, equipment, troops and whatever else comes up in his brain without actually knowing the reality on the ground. That is to say, we are desperately short of money, troops, equipment and on top of that the equipme...
