Anything new under the sun then? Well...

Many of the ‘normal’ people are just wondering whether politicians have now completely lost their marbles? But I think we need to look at the wider implications. First of all, you might think Trump is an idiot. And frankly listening at some of his verbal emanations I wouldn’t blame you. But he is right about his ‘America First’ talk and corresponding actions. Because let us be very frank, we in Europe for far too long have sat back and with a nice beer in hand sat on the beach watching the waves, thinking how well we are doing. Letting the States pay all the bills. Being very frank indeed we have let it slip! And now finally someone has said, “Sorry boys, play time is over”. Unfortunately the other bit, whether used as a ‘frightener’ or not, about the US’ getting more in line with Moscow’s rhetoric and actions, is not so good for the world. There is rejoicing in the Kremlin, thinking they might just nicely get away with their invasion and keeping the land plus its resources. Inclusive of a non-alignment of old Sovjet lands like Poland and the Baltics with the West and non-membership of NATO. In any case from where I am sitting NATO is now a dead duck walking. The same way a chicken has its head severed and keeps on walking, at least for a short while but dead is dead.

The message is stark, indeed but Europe now must look to its own security and do it fast! Never mind Starmer smiling benignly in front of the cameras chortling on about what needs to be done. Let’s tell him, just do it mate! Do the unthinkable, cut the bloated social security costs by half, increase defence spending by more to 5% of GDP and up forces’ recruitment. Stop the stupid ’Everyone must go to Uni’ talk, start national service in some form and furthermore cut all the woke ‘cr*p’. On top of that convince all European member states they have to combine their efforts. It’ll do for starters.

Finally I’d like to ask to Trump what would his actions be when Mexico demands Arizona and Texas back? Or better when Mexico invades the US and takes Texas? Why no? They used to own it. In fact they have more rights than the US. Furthermore the same counts of the southern parts of California. Even worse Britain used to own the eastern sea board. We want it back!
