Did Tusk pick up the real issue?
Apparently last Sunday the Polish president Donald Tusk said this as he was leaving for the London summit on the American-Ukraine-Russian debacle: Why do 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 140 million Russians? He indeed called it a paradox. It is easy isn’t it, to rely on somebody who is too willing to do things that would cost you money, and billions of it. Europe just sat back and spend its cash of social experiments such as we have seen in the UK (despite our politicians’ denials) where literally we have created a nation where too many people are now expecting to be kept in luxury without lifting a finger. What’s more we are still doing it. And we are not alone. In the name of what they call humanitarian action, Europe including the UK has allowed, even encouraged, a mass movement of peoples from practically all regions of the world. Especially from places with economical poverty and living conditions without much of an understanding of the cost implications or the differences in social rules and behaviours. That bill is now being paid today.
The question is pretty valid and the other part of Tusk’s view is – why did the American administrations think it was a good thing to do? To safeguard Europe from possible war(s)? Only one thing, money. Simply because they charged for it. I don’t want to portray this so simplistic because in truth there is also the question of power. Power over how other countries would relate to the US and to each other. Yet it would come down to money. Because Europe and not just Europe alone, would have to buy their weapons, services and accompanying goods from the US. Furthermore services like maintenance would entail whole detachments of people, offices, even military bases to be stationed across the world. As mentioned by me before, for that the US needs an enemy. And lo and behold, we have the Russians. The Americans knew the psychological state of their heads and played the game. However, today the Russians are a spent force, their infrastructure is virtually non-existent except for some smallish western part. Also there must have been a big debate about their military capabilities which as we have seen seem to be on the level of Genghis Khan. Sure, they have made nuclear weapons but again there is a debate whether these will actually work due to lack of maintenance and replacement. So, America needs another enemy, and here come the Chinese! And Russia becomes a valued friend because it needs quite some aid to develop Siberia. And guess what? Where will the dug up rare earth minerals end up?
I just wonder how far Trump has got into the Russian sphere, rumours of his financial affairs abound. As it does with Musk as well. Where did he get the astronomical sums of money from to buy Twitter and also develop SpaceX?
The truth is still out there somewhere but the fact we are all led by very aggressive, far-right thinking individuals is without question. Even in the UK there are streams to that effect. It might well be as a result of the woke liberal dominance over the past 50 or so years, but we must not let the pendulum swing too far the other way. By all means sort out the woke excesses but let’s not throw out the baby with the bathwater!
