To U-turn or not to U-turn, that's the question...

One of the things happening often in UK politics, the government making U-turns. Now ordinarily that’s not so bad because if you have made a mistake and after a year or so you figure it would be better to change, then do so. But in the UK U-turns happen within days! That shows policy is made on the hoof. Like in No.10 the cat has a brilliant idea, the Prime Minister immediately goes on social media saying cat food should be free of charge. Brilliant, great idea, everybody applauding. Two days later after vociferous opposition the PM declares that as cat food is now made from vegetable matter and Tofu, the cats have gone on strike. They want Kitekat back. So, U-turn. Brilliant, aren’t we doing well. Just a waste of time. Because in those few days there were hundreds of meetings, the Speaker of the House needed a private plane to attend a briefing in Honolulu about why cat food was too expensive and the surcharge needed removing. No-one knows why he needed to stay in the Hilton but apparently the campsite was full. Mr PM himself called his dearest friend Emmanuel (Macron) the French president, to complain about the boats not carrying tins of free catfood whilst the immigrants were going over anyway. Ah, yes it’s politics UK style. The funny thing it still seems to work somewhat. Costly, sure but it is not really money is it? It is taxation and we could and do often, increase it if we need more. If people complain we dish out a few more laws to shut them up.

Obviously, I am talking in a sad but light-hearted manner about a quite serious subject. The failure of the State and its subsidiaries to safeguard white British girls. Whilst it was well known what was going on, the State closed its eyes when it learned these vile practices were basically performed by gangs of Asians. It does not matter to outline their country of origin because some of them were born here. It is true to say there were more than one gang and in other parts of the country some white men were involved. The government and its PM more or less declared that nothing good would be served in a country-wide Inquiry. After a lot of noise, growing louder by the day, here we go, U-turn. Suddenly Mr PM found it absolutely necessary. It baffles me why he could not find it was the Conservatives who failed, after all according to the Deputy PM, they are scum. Again, the glaringly obvious reason was the men were mostly not white. Whether these were Muslims or whatever needs debating.

It is sad to say that our society has seen this sort of behaviour far too often. Even clerics of the Church, although perhaps not members of a gang, they sure did not shy away from some hanky-panky in the pews. Too many times has government walked away from these social ills. Whether fed by social media or the Dark Web doesn’t matter, shut it down! Of course a lot of money is involved but the safety of the person and certainly so for young girls, is a prerogative and should be so for the government. This is why I mentioned before that the government is criminally negligent. It is failing the people who elected them to look after their interests. After the Conservative implosion we thought that Labour would be best listening to the words and promises. How wrong we all were. Labour is just carrying on the same old rubbish. A sad reflection on a once great nation.
