Are we prepared? You bet we are, not....
Compared to other European countries, like Finland, Estonia, Poland, those bordering or very close to Russia; we are here in the UK still thinking the sea will save us. Forgetting of course that todays warfare does not seem to use human bodies so much. Except of course as casualties. Drones, hypersonic missiles you name it, it all flies pretty fast. Thinking the sea will save us from invasion is wrong. There will be no invasion but we will still be flattened. The countries mentioned have understood that, plus that Russia today is not really interested in maintaining peace. It certainly tries without using soldiers on foot to disrupt, to destroy, to kill their believed to be adversaries. The countries of the eastern part of Europe have understood that scenario and have been training civilian reserves with weapons firing practice carried out on a monthly basis. Average citizens are supporters of the reserve concept, and hundreds of thousands have signed up and actively participate each month. Here in Britain we are just importing thousands of young Muslim men who in the main are not interested in integrating with a western ideology but more in establishing sharia law. As some American top politicians seem to think, Britain will be if not already, a Muslim European country. We have no idea about what is going on. Not with Russia, nor anywhere else.
During WW2 we had the Home Guard, could we again? The problem is that the Russians would laugh their heads off seeing thousands of very old toothless men parading in the sand dunes with broom sticks pretending to be weapons. What would Starmer say? If he could get his head together. I know, he’ll tell our bank teller Reeves to put some extra tax on something. Like increasing VAT to 50%. Always handy to have something extra. Unlike those eastern European countries who have long seen the problem of Russia and are prepared to do something about it, we are more interested in project Net-Zero. So we are well-prepared for any Russian involvements in the near future. The world picture has changed it is still doing so, rapidly. And all our top politician can think of is that his political opponent from Reform has sung some Nazi sounding song when he was wearing short pants eating a toffee humbug. Of course it is important to know that, I cannot remember what I used to sing when 10 years of age but it wasn’t something politically correct I fear. But I think Starmer is right we need to prosecute everyone who is not using the right songs, like any girls singing songs from Taylor Swift or the Marseillaise.
Thinking this is a sad state of affairs? Of course it is, we need people with a backbone, people who are not afraid to call a cow a cow. People who are able to move others to work together for the common good. We need people with common sense, we need those who can separate the wheat from the chaff. Listening are you, Starmer? So, get out while you can and read a few books by Churchill.
