Anyone for a bit more land? Well...
Astounding though it may be, Canada has demanded that the American States Washington, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota are returned to them forthwith. As a matter of fact, President Trump has denied they were ever Canadian but Canada’s premier pointed out that most of the States were one. In fact there was no States at all, Trump said something to the tune of that America once was the only nation on the planet and that his great great times sixty something father was the president. He had a standing ovation in the psychiatric hospital of Washington DC. In the meantime Canada has now occupied part of the requested land and is demanding that the US will disband its military.
Wouldn’t you think this an interesting scenario? How would America actually react to something like that, especially if an outside nation, let’s say a man like Keir Starmer said that ‘Yes, America should concede land’. Well, this is the same situation a real one that faces this, Ukraine. The question is also – Where will such a situation lead to? Total war? Or a grinding guerilla war lasting 10 or more years? What does Russia really want? Well, to answer that one we need to look at history. Even before the Bolsheviks took over Russia was very much an expansion orientated country. This more or less came to its largest extent in the Sovjet Union time. Thus after WW2. Today’s Russian thinking is to replicate the situation. They also figured out that Ukraine being sort of next door would be easy since it had already a sizable Russian speaking population. The mindset of all Russians is serf like. Authority of whatever kind is master. In such circumstances gang-leaders thrive. No-one can deny today’s government in Russia is not led by gangsters? At least those politicians of a same mind? Even the USA is going that way. Perhaps it is a direct result of overpopulation. Overpopulation in small areas of the planet. Meaning those areas having the best climate for humans, inclusive of the availability of water and areas for crop growing.
Just look at India, China and guess where most Russians live? When the Netherlands was only large lakes and sea inlets there were hardly any people but when large areas were dried population increased fast. Today it is still one of the most crowded areas of land. So, as I mentioned before a few times density of population is one of the keys to today’s geographical struggles. Land means resources, just ask Trump where most of the raw materials are needed for today’s industrial revolution. The Data revolution. That’s where we will find tomorrow’s wars.
