War problems, are we ready? Eh...

The Ukraine war has been mentioned quite a number of times. Yet here there seems little worry about the reality of what is going on. In fact our politicians are very happy to have pictures taken with Zelensky in front of some rubble, shaking hands and promising undying support when in reality that support is woefully lacking. That may have something to do with our own unpreparedness. Let’s be fair we here in the UK have been reducing our armed forces for years, not only that but the top-brass is still fighting World War Two. Meaning they are still in the same frame of mind. Whilst everyone else is looking at the reality on the battlefield, drones and the way artillery is used. There is a lot of talk about NATO, but NATO is subdivided. Obviously because of the multitude of countries that are part of it. The nations that border Russia are busy updating their forces and pretty aware of what Russia is doing and how they are doing it, in Ukraine whilst others are watching. Also the Americans can no longer be trusted if Article 5 was called into being. The present situation in the States being very unpredictable.

Viewing what is going on in Eastern Europe thinking how the next wars will have to be fought should be foremost in the brains of top brass. It should be visible that numbers of people are less important today as they once were. The UK on its own would not be capable of fighting any war or participating in a full-fledged NATO expedition. More so, it is questionable whether the US would be, viewing their national debt and political stand. It is in my opinion the reason why we are seeing such Russian activity. Not just in Ukraine but also further afield. Their electronic warfare capabilities are forging ahead as is the Ukraine’s. We should learn from their example. I have felt when viewing these ‘wonderful’ aircraft carriers that they are extremely vulnerable. Yes, they can defend themselves but for how long? Drone attacks, not by one but hundreds? Floating drones, submersible drones? I wouldn’t put any money on the survival of these huge ships. For me, Britain’s two aircraft carriers were a waste of time and money and no more than virtue-signalling. Possibly to Trumpy baby? I don’t think the Russians would particularly worry about them, or the Chinese when they see them sailing through the Formosa Straits.

It has to be true that strategies have to change as well. This is something the Russians are learning fast. Up to now they have carried out the old strategy of flooding the battlefield with numbers of bodies, soldiers. In the hope that eventually some will get through. In fact, they do but because of ideological problems quickly surrender. Meaning, they do not totally agree with the reasons why they are fighting at all. But viewing the information available on the web, Russia is producing enormous numbers of drones. Will someone please knock on No.10 Downing Street and have a chat with Keir? I don’t believe he is grasping the situation in the world at all, thinking all he has to do is being seen with other world leaders looking like a prat.
