Hey, have some good external insulation?. Ah, I see....
Whilst watching TV News this morning, there was a snippet on the Energy debt in this country. We’re told it is a total of some £4billion! On top of that the reporter said that everyone gets charged some £52 extra per annum to cover non-payment. In other words we all who still pay their bills, like me included get charged to pay for those who don’t. So, why do we have a £4billion level of bad debt for energy then? Or are they saying there are so many now who do not pay their bills that even the £52 extra is not sufficient? I just wonder if those who make the rules and are in charge actually do know what the ‘eck they are doing? How many times do we have to point out the mediocrity of those who are in charge? In this country if anything goes wrong there comes a law or rule that increases the cost. There seem to be no action to correct the problems. It is just, people are charged more. Of course it is the easy way, why should those in charge worry? We, the general population that still work and try to be responsible have very deep pockets so they in charge think. Pay up buddy it is good for us all. Yes, especially for those in charge. What a shower.
Another in the same energy field is the government’s insistence of having outside wall insulation. I and my family live in a stone-built house built in 1863. The stones are lime stone I think and the cement used in those days is basically coal dust with some other stuff. It is a double wall with rubble in between. The house still stands today even with numerous alterations to design as well as internal beautifications. Yet there is very little if anything you can call fungus or mold. I installed CH myself, a gas boiler. And that will stay until I die. There is no Air heat pump or whatever the dumbos in Westminster say, coming to ruin my life here. No external crap on my house. Starmer or anyone else in government can go singing in the rain. I have had mold because of internal leaks. Simply because in 1863 they installed lead pipes and all sorts of interesting things but times have changed. It was ultra modern in those days but now we have new, up-to-date equipment and materials. When a leak developed under the conservatory I had to lay down a brand new inside water line. Right up to the outside stop gap. Simply because it is said that pipe work inside the property line is the house holders responsibility. OK, so be it, also the old bent copper tubes were out and renewed with the advised blue PVC pipes. It works like a dream. The lesson here is – do not depend on the various bodies who are supposedly in charge. You cannot depend on them. These bodies do work, you see them buzzing around, except no-one really knows what they are doing. They seem to carry around lots of equipment and materials but where and what they are doing with is a conundrum. You say, it is a shambles? Yeah, you’re right, we are living in a age of shambolic inefficiencies. And this in the land that started the Industrial Revolution. Now you might argue whether that was a good thing. Yes, it could be but we’re talking humans here, greedy, avaricious humans. You can see that in the rail system. Only very recently they started to renew bits, like electrification and such but until that started they were very happy to just leave things as they were. It was working innit? Yeah, just about but it also became the costliest service in Europe if not the world! Well, ‘nuff said, I don’t think it’ll change any time soon!
