Let's make our minds up whether we are British?

It is rather interesting to read some posts on the website of Quora, the Question & Answer software. I have picked the post below as something close to my own views. The funny thing is that loads of posts thereon are anonymous. Or they are answered according to a question you cannot read. Even so, if you wish to read similar posts, only one way look on Quora. It comes in a variety of languages. But coming back to what the post below says, although presumably an US based discussion, can pertain to the two-party system in the UK as well. Also the religious part as we have a plethora of denominations. The Church of England and its sister denominations in Wales and Scotland are also pretty well looking to serve themselves. The falling congregations are a strong sign things are not as they would want them to be. In a previous post on my blog I did mention the Churches’ predilection to pander to the woke community and so becoming part of it. Switching off many possible worshippers. As far as politicians are concerned, well you only need to read the various newspapers to read how well they are viewed. The whole western world seems to have forgotten some of the historical truths which are now biting us all in the bum.The relevant post (part) is below:

Throughout history, those involved in politics, especially higher up, have almost never served humanity. They always serve themselves. Which is why (assuming you’re US based) this constant war among regular people between right and left is stupid. All sides, including the independents, really only seek to serve themselves. That will likely never change. It’s interesting how power, money and influence so quickly changes people. In the political realm, there are very few who do try and push agendas very much beneficial to humanity. Those few rarely make any difference because of the super majority who are self serving. In religious circles, the problem is the same, but the outcome is different. There are many, I would argue likely most, within the religious circles who are self serving. That manifests in the fighting between different denominations, wars, cults and various other things. These are the things that typically get highlighted in the news and become evident in social media. However, the few who are working diligently to bring a message that all of humanity needs, can and do make a difference.

Well, I suppose it is just an opinion but it displays an insight in the way how politicians work and are viewed. It is not just politicians who are short-sighted and display a lack of memory. Presently there are large protest gatherings in respect of the Palestinian problem. Yes, believe it, in the UK. In Cardiff, Wales as well. As I said before, war gives no mercy, people in the way will be harmed, or even be killed. I find it incomprehensible that people come to this country as I did and are evidently not British as such, except in name. When I took the Oath I became British and forget I was a Dutchman. If there was a war between the UK and Holland, as fanciful as may be as we could come off second best, I would defend Britain. If needed carry arms and as necessary, kill the enemy. I understand people that come from a totally different background have family overseas, as I do as well, but I still have to say, I am now different, different nationality, different life. One has to assimilate and fast! You are wearing new clothes now, emblazoned with both the Welsh Dragon and the Union Jack. If that is something you cannot do, you should be honest and return from where you came. But I am glad I am not a lone voice and being caustic about Church and Politics, as both have turned the wrong corner. Let us hope they will find their way back!
