A hard look at reality? Well, think about it....

You could ask yourself, why is Britain like it is? Riots all over the place, wanton destruction of property. Basically it is a stupid question because the answer is already known. At the bottom of all of this is simply weak government. Weak in the sense it doesn’t know how to govern for the well-being of the population at large. Weak in the sense it continues to promise things without knowing how to even start the process. Weak in the sense it has lost complete touch with the reality on the ground.

And weak in the sense it doesn’t know what to do with young people. They have tinkered with education, believing everyone must have a degree. Believing everyone from the age of three years old must know about diversity and gender. This all just for starters, I could go on.

Now after the stick of dynamite has exploded, wide-eyed politicians blankly stare in the TV cameras of the thousand or so BBC reporters, burbling happily about something called the ‘Full Force of the Law’, without knowing what that really means. But it sounds good and they feel strong through showing their mettle and fitness for the job.

Is the situation redeemable? Can we turn it around? Well, political solutions mostly means a truckload of money being thrown around and they themselves retreating into the dark dungeons of the fortress called Parliament, congratulating themselves by a 25% increase in salary and free whiskey all around for a week. It is no wonder we, the muck dwellers call them the ‘Elite’. It is incredibly difficult to get this thought process out of mind. We have been used to look up to ‘betters’ all of our lives but today things have changed. Our ‘betters, the ‘Elite’ have been found wanting! The careless attitude with money, our money! The careless making of decisions without even thinking about possible consequences. Thanks to the Internet, there is no hiding place.

We have noted it yet again. Ms Rayner, now in charge and obviously throwing her weight around. A city woman without any idea how farmers, and shire dwellers have to cope. But she has had a few brilliant ideas, build a few million homes and blow the planning restrictions. What would be likely to happen? They won’t clean up old sites, they will take green sites, bet you bottom dollar.

Yes, we are in a mess but it is their own fault. The blame for all of this can be laid fairly and squarely at the foot of all politicians. A simple election process does not change that, it just continues. We need a complete rethink of how we want to live. We need to evaluate whether unbridled house building is a good or a bad thing. We need to think carefully about how we can sustain the nation’s food production. Not import apples from South Africa and cutting down our orchards. The way we are going at the moment is building over the nation’s soil and becoming entirely dependent on imports. The only people that work will be builders, brickies. The rest of us will languish in the dark streets of Rayner's brilliant intellect.
