Great idea Starmer, let's ban social media...
Great stuff, aren’t we happy that our wonderful knowledgeable PM Starmer has declared his unwavering support for children? May I ask, does he know what children actually are? Dolls? Maybe something else, chimpanzees? Here we are again, the cameras are rolling, a bevy of MPs stand around smiling at the side and back of the PM, much like you see Trump doing when he signs those idiotic pieces of card, and starts opening mouth. Unfortunately what tends to come out, is so unhinged, badly spoken and even worse we know he is lying! How that man can do this is beyond me. I am sure he has had an education, he knows what is right and what is wrong. He knows what can be done and how it ought to be done. Yet he stands there uttering the most inane idiot plans which have zero chance of working. Not only that, plans that are designed to be kicked about the mulberry bush. So, yesterday we had to listen to this wonderful verbal emanation of how he cares about ‘our children’. No, mate you don’t. You don’t really care because if you did, you would not even say stupid stuff like that but actually do something that will work. The children I know, already said I use a VPN now. Bang out of the window goes his wonderful plan of banning all children from social media. Oh, but I thought the plan would include social media policing their platforms so children would not be able to log in? No, sir there is no such demand. Social media platforms will just be as they have been. Then a 14 year old girl I know because she is part of my family sprightly told me, I can set up my own private chatbot. What??!! How do you do that? Oh easy, ChatGPT actually tells you how to do that. Or I just use WhatsApp or Signal, they won’t be banned. With my VPN I can see anything I want, all social media works as it has worked before, no problem.
Dear oh dear, so how can we possibly make this work? Well, let’s state first and foremost it is one of those difficult things like the head-hair of Medusa. Remember the story, kill one or more of those snakes and more will grow. The Internet is just like that. How was Medusa dealt with, just killed. Now, even that won’t work with the Internet, people will never kill it. The truth is it has already grown into our human sphere acting much like a bug. It can be a good bug or a bad bug, it just depends on our lifestyle and how the bug will react to that. The bug can be killed sure but then our bodies may react to that as well. The Internet is exactly like that. So, is there a solution? Of course, all problems have a solution. But not all solutions are beneficial, they might throw up other problems. Again, a thing that escapes our wonderful PM and cohorts. Stop-gap government. Bashing out wonderful sounding laws, plans whatever and almost immediately it shows they don’t work or throw up numeral other problems. These get dealt with, etc etc. You could even say it keeps the jokers in business. Sad? Of course it is, we deserve better than the likes of Starmer. It is not the Labour party persé, the set-up of that political party was during the aftermath of the awful labour conditions of the Victorian aristocratic rule. So yes, nothing wrong about that but over time something happened to their mindset. Time to address it, no?
