Whereto now, Solomon? Oh I don't know... somewhere
There is no greater fool than one who thinks he has done a great job. Despite all the signs that the truth is a heck of a lot different! And here we have Mr Snoozefest, Starmer. But let us be clear, he is a decent man. A law degree from Leeds or somewhere around there. A man who seemed to be well liked by his contemporaries. But he is going. The seventh PM in a decade. What does that say actually? It simply seems that that position comes with a warning. That warning is ‘Don’t talk nonsense’. Meaning, don’t promise things you cannot keep and then do the opposite. For instance, anyone remember the sound bites? ‘Country First, Party Second’? ‘We are making lives better for working people?’ ‘We don’t intend to raise taxes’? It seems that, as I have mentioned before, as soon as a party is in government, the intentions change. So, why are we all listening to the crap they come out with? None of it is going to be done. The reality of the situation soon hits. The financials, Labour in particular has always been weak on budgetting. It is remarkable how they managed to up the National Debt to three trillion pounds! How can anyone believe that it is sustainable to carry on in that manner? Apparently Starmer didn’t lose much sleep over it, neither Reeves. Nor do a sizable portion of the Labour MPs! The leftie woke MPs. A country is not so different in financial control as a family has to be. I have to watch my outgoings. I have to work to a budget. If I get into trouble I might have arranged an overdraft. But it means paying interest. The same rules apply to a country’s financial status. There are a few slight differences. To get an overdraft, a country can issue bonds. But yes, interest applies. Worse, if due to mismanagement inflation rises, the amount paid on these bonds in interest also rises, even though the interest rate stays the same!
One of the questions I ask is – How far can the amount of National Debt go before we can no longer afford the interest? The amount payable at the moment must already be gynormous. That is real money going to investors instead of infrastructure. Can some one tell the out of touch the Ed Miliband guy? In fact, I think we need to medically check him. He is either stark raving mad or an alien. A chap so way out of reality needs sectioning under the Mental Health Act. I also have mentioned some time ago, that government has separated itself from the people. From the nation. It does its own thing. Basically, you could say it works to maintain itself. It makes laws that quite noticeably do NOT work for the people generally. It shows that there is no proper planning. Shown up by the continual U-turns. For instance, withdrawing the two-children cap on Child Benefit not only will draw in more immigrants but penalise sound thinking by those who restrict themselves to just two children. The money has to come from somewhere, which is one reason the armed forces are no longer fit for purpose. But better not tell MPs, they don’t understand planning for the future.
