To U-turn or not to U-turn, that's the question...
One of the things happening often in UK politics, the government making U-turns. Now ordinarily that’s not so bad because if you have made a mistake and after a year or so you figure it would be better to change, then do so. But in the UK U-turns happen within days! That shows policy is made on the hoof. Like in No.10 the cat has a brilliant idea, the Prime Minister immediately goes on social media saying cat food should be free of charge. Brilliant, great idea, everybody applauding. Two days later after vociferous opposition the PM declares that as cat food is now made from vegetable matter and Tofu, the cats have gone on strike. They want Kitekat back. So, U-turn. Brilliant, aren’t we doing well. Just a waste of time. Because in those few days there were hundreds of meetings, the Speaker of the House needed a private plane to attend a briefing in Honolulu about why cat food was too expensive and the surcharge needed removing.
