The Holocaust.... problematic?

It might have escaped most people’s attention but today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. A day when it is remembered six million Jewish faith people died and an untold number of soldiers during the last World War. It takes some soul searching why it was possible to carry out the atrocities as described in many films recovered from that time. Who can forget the visions of emaciated corpses heaped up in hills of rotting flesh. Of walking skeletons? It is hard to believe there are people today who glorify this, who believe it is the Jews responsibility. Ask yourself why? Do we in the UK think like that? Do we in Wales? There are people who believe it never happened. It is all something drummed up by politicians or nefarious organisations. God knows for what purpose that would be.      The question though is this – how do rational beings with a thinking forward capability believe that a subsection of humanity is subhuman and needs to be exterminated?...

Politics or a comedy show?

American politics is collapsing into an absolute farce. Instead of well-researched details properly obtained and verified we now get off the cuff remarks that bear litle truth to the reality on the ground. What is even worse is the continual kowtowing of European leaders in order to ‘safeguard’ their perceived standing. I remember the ‘Dear Donald’ moment performed by NATO secretary-general Mark Rutte. He was just seconds away from trying to kiss Trump. Hopefully without tongues. But it is the situation today. So, an emboldened Trump who has seen his ‘off-the-cuff’ actions succeed has now started on a serious attempt to acquire Greenland as being part of the United States. That must be one of the silliest mistakes a leader can possibly make. Attacking an ally who is also part of many of the same institutions. NATO in particular. As soon as that came to the Kremlin, they held a champagne party to celebrate the obvious legitimising of their Ukraine invasion. If ...

Infrastructure? What infrastructure...

This morning’s TV news is as per the usual an eye-opener on the incredible incompetency of our hallowed public servants. Whether elected or just employed they all seem to have gone to the same school. It was incredible to listen to the leader of Cardiff Council talking about there not being enough school places for the children. Really? No shit, baby. It is something people like myself have been saying for so long it has become a song. The problem is quite easy to see. Housebuilding by the thousands and when people have moved in there will be children. Either ready made or being born. You know what they say – new house, new baby! Might be something to do with the soothing noise of the Air source heat pump I suppose. Time and again the same problem surfaces, the lack of infrastructure. It is fine to build houses but what about the services that will be needed? The shallow thinking is so pathetic it is akin to the American White House style. Are these the people lea...

Ol' Farmer Donald T right? Well, see here...judge for yourself

You can say whatever you think about Baby Trump. The way he conducts politics, the way he sounds off on social media, whatever. But in one of the Quora messages about him, quoting a post from his Donald J. Trump account he has posted the following about there is only two options to deal with illegals – 1) Deport every 3-world immigrant, illegal alien, and America hating Visa holder and 2) Surrender your nation the way the UK have and watch your society collapse in the coming years.      The observation from point 2 is very spot on in my opinion. In fact it has already well progressed. Society in the UK and viewing it from my sofa is fractured beyond repair. Even in small places such as where I am living we are seeing immigrants, social misfits, drug addicts, you name it being sidled into society. Housing being built in so many places, lots of unsuitable places just to accommodate the influx. What local councils don’t do is quite evident as w...

Decline? Really? Where?

Reading a Telegraph article about decline was to say the least, eye-opening. Obviously I have been thinking about decline in many different ways, you cannot escape it as the signs are all around us. It even comes to the point of thinking, ‘What is the use of humanity on this planet’? In the wider world most of us, as the Telegraph article pointed out, do not think about decline. Basically, we tend to accept it. Same for myself, I think about it, I wonder why, then go back to sleep. Yet it should really bother us. The problem becomes much worse when politicians do the same. They think about it, then accept it as a state of affairs. It happens, accept it. As such nothing much is really done, visualise the boats on the Channel with literally thousands of immigrants. Basically accepted, visualise the NHS and its inabilities to come to grips with waiting times and also the lack of beds. All basically accepted as the way it is. Bar the usual fuzzy TV debates as how they are going to attack t...

More musings...

It is a great time for European politicians to start trying to figure out how they so miserably failed. Failed in their own defense, failed in anticipating the way the US is doing its politics and primarily its views on world power blocks. Don’t tell me it was not known how Trump behaves and what he is about. It is like “Ah, let’s not worry, we will control him”. Yes, and how do you control an unpredictable human being? It is like walking through the African savannah ignoring the lion stalking you. Don’t be surprised if you end up in its stomach. The situation with Trump is simple, he has the idea of power blocs. He, that is to say the US, is to control the western hemisphere. The American action in Venezuela shows that without doubt. More might follow there. Cuba, Bolivia and possibly Brazil as well. Greenland is a dead duck, the US will almost certainly take it over. It isn’t really about security, it is more about resources. Greenland has rich veins of lithium amongst other metal...

New Year Musings

As I am a reader of Quora and know that 95% of it is absolute crap, somethings the remaining 5% show up some insight what is really going on. One of the those asked ‘Is Britain (the UK) on the brink of collapse? Now normally I would laugh at such a question but lately? No, I am not. Let’s have a look, are there indicators? Well, yes weak government as the article says ‘Complex, ineffective government systems’. I would go further and say simply, ‘The government has lost the plot’. The article also states ‘People have lost faith and question legitimacy in institutions’. That would be a recipe for insurrection or let’s just say ‘revolution’. It also stated there was ‘Inequality rising towards dangerous levels’. Yes indeed, that is very visible. Looking at Wales , Scotland and comparing that with London and environs, there is an unbelievable difference. What’s more most of those who support that situation are MP’s from the Home Counties. Even so, in the middle of all that excessive ‘wealth...

Debt? What debt...

Watching some of the TV news you might get the impression we are all mad. We have politicians pontificating about issues they have no idea about. You only have to watch the Australian PM or one of our own dwarves named Starmer. As a matter of fact you noticed I did not name the POTUS. I like him actually, at least he seems to know what he is doing. Alienating about everybody else on the planet. I also think it is about high time politicians, at least the top politicians stop putting into the pot ideas they have about how to rule. To be brutally honest, those ideas are just pantomime. It is high time they start thinking about what the country as a whole desperately needs. Politicians also need to understand you cannot be friends with every Tom, D*ck and Harry. But surely politicians need to get to grip with the finances. Basically because what you don’t have you cannot spend. If you do spend what you do not have there will be a cost. Just to mention here that cost to the UK population i...

Politics right, or left, or even wrong?

We have complained quite a few times about the quality of politicians. But why do we have to do that? Writing or saying it is easy enough but is it the reality? The facts are politicians exist as a subgroup of volunteers who generally tend to be at the extremes of belief systems. The belief systems being the right and left of the political spectrum. That seems a stark exclamation but the reality shows it to be true. Obviously, there are also those who are at varying positions within that spectrum. In general, people have enabled mentally and morally deformed leaders to take control. Good people cannot be bothered to go into politics. This statement seems particularly true of the two power-blocks, the US and Russia. So, what about the UK? I wouldn’t declare Starmer and Co as morally defunct or deformed but there are questions about their political acumen and ideas about what is truth. One of the questions I struggle with is what should politics be about? First and foremost it should ...

Get working politicians - No2

Carrying on from a previous post concerning the state of politics, the real state and not just what our wonderful government tells us, it needs mentioning the state of it gets worse day by day. In Russia we get high placed individuals openly declaring ‘nuking’ Europe is a real possibility. Even just saying one capital needs to be ‘nuked’ as a lesson to who is boss. In America (the US) its president simply declares Europe is basically a non-entity and not worthy to be defended. The truth is harsh because parts of it are correct. On the news channels a former head of the Army said in 2024 the UK should train a ‘Citizen Army’. That idea was simply laughed at by No.10. Yet other European countries now are installing forms of military service. Simply because it is getting into our heads that numbers still matter viewing what is happening in Ukraine. Sir Ben Wallace, a previous Defence Secretary said “The reality is our armed forces cannot survive on a diet of government spin, over-the-horiz...

Get working, politicians of Europe.

Exactly like in the Thirties of the last century, we are sleepwalking into a war. Most likely a world war. Just watch the politics today. Plenty of meetings between leaders of the West European nations and that’s it. It all gets sold as “We are peacemakers”. It seems no-one really understands what makes countries like Russia, North Korea and yes, also China tick! And if they do, just ignore it. After all aren’t we here doing well? Let’s keep it that way. The problem is, it is not entirely in our own hands. Do people like Starmer look at what the overriding rationale of the Russian top is? Even I can see it. All the actions we have seen so far show only one direction despite denials. It is about influence. Perhaps not so much in actual conquering other countries but basically subjugating them and pulling them into their sphere. It is not just about taking 20% of Ukraine. Yes, we have that, thank you for the minerals but we also want you to follow us! And as we are at that, how about doi...

Are we believing democracy works?

Early Saturday morning and just been watching a report about the Skripals, the incredible attempt by the Russian machine to get rid of one of their absconded operatives. It struck me as a blatant attempt to carry out a military operation on foreign soil. What was very visible was the medical services working virtually day and night to save the victims. Some too late to be saved. Another thing I found incredible is the lax attitude we all have about these things. You know something like “Oh, it’s the Russians, what do you expect”, type of thing. I don’t think our political wonders in Westminster have much of an idea what is actually going on. Bar talking about Auntie Peg who has a problem with her gas supplier. All very droll of course but in the meantime the Russians are just merrily dancing the Conga. Everywhere now the Russians seem to have been following a plan that does not need nuclear weapons, they just keep infiltrating areas and people to subvert the very lives right up to gov...

The Americans our saviours? Eh....

A bit of news that loads of people will not know about. Simply because it came out from Euronews.com. Also because it is relatively new – issued 1/12/2025. The title probably says it all “Washington sees Europe as inconsequential” - Former US commanding general in Europe tells Euronews -it was former commanding general of US Army Europe Ben Hodges, warning the continent is "Slowly waking up to the realisation it cannot rely on the US as a fair partner”. Precisely what I have said before as well. Indeed many people know it except our incomprehensible politicians. In particular British politicians. To see Starmer laying down prostate before Trump was an affront to our national dignity. But he was not on his own, anyone forget the ‘Dear Donald...” cringefest from the even more deluded previous Dutch premier, now NATO chief, Rutte? A failed Dutchman, and there are many more kowtowing to Trump like he is the real emissary from God. One may well ask why we have arrived at this typ...

The Budget. What budget....?

Well the Budget has hit the podium and the play has begun! Will anyone with a brain shut the door when they leave for the airport or port? Does anyone think this Budget will do what is said it will do? Fat chance! Will the loss of the two-child limit do what our brainy Chancellor says it will? No chance. What it will do is give more money to those on drugs and booze, or pay for the gambling habits. The kids will be as poor as they have always been. It is the bane of humanity especially in Britain. There will just be an increase in the unemployed as for some it will be so much easier not to work at all. I know this is a pretty negative state of affairs but can anyone dispute the reality? For the most part it is already and has been so for quite some time. To diminish the rules is not what people need. Overall the welfare state has just grown again. What did we expect? Labour is the party that murders the economy and has done so every time they came to power. I was listening to the bello...

What plan? 28 points too many!

Good grief, the Americans are at it again! Frankly, does anyone, in particular good-willing politicians trust America and their negotiators any more? I doubt it. But let’s have a look as to why I want to pinpoint this. Obviously, the first point is the treatment dished out to the Ukrainians and in particular their president. Frankly, Zelensky towers 6 miles over that silly Trump. All Trump wants out of this is mining rights and the cash to rebuild what has been destroyed. Nothing else matters. The broomstick behind the door is withholding the needed weapon systems. Then we have this idiotic 28 point peace plan. Does anyone with a brain think that will work? With the Russian penchant for breaking agreements, who would? Zelensky is in an impossible situation. Many wonder what Russia has over Trump? If I was an American I would certainly press for Trump’s accounts to be minutely researched. The adage is where there is a question of probity, look at the money and sex. I wonder how the Amer...

Is planning up to scratch?

Just wondering why planners, indeed the government, think it is a good idea to plaster the countryside with small houses, no garden, and acres of solar panels? Does every person in the various offices think it doesn’t matter about a healthy environment, indigenous wildlife? Humans don’t need areas for growing their food any more? Perhaps it is easier to import? The problem with all that idiotic planning and rules is eventually the pigeons are coming home to roost! As the climate heats up growing areas in southern lands will dry up and importing their once plentiful fruits and vegetables will no longer be available. Those that are still will be exceedingly expensive. But hey, we are alright in Britain, we are warm and can drive our EV’s. Except, just to remind our clever lawmakers, we cannot eat or drink electricity! One of the problems is overzealous politicians with one burning desire to fulfil an idea they have and come what may to do it. Ed Miliband is just such a man, wanting to ma...

Social issues here? What does that mean....

Do people ever think about how the nation pays its bills or even how it distributes its income? Probably not, viewing the ever increasing demands. Also of course by government itself seemingly not able to curtail its spending habits. This idea to drop the two-child cap is one of those issues. One wonders who thought it is a good idea? Are British people now so accustomed to hand-outs? Indeed, too many now believe we do no longer have to work. Life is a never ending holiday. How did we ever think that a society can just sit back, smoke cigars and drink beer all day long? A society only will be successful when its people work towards it being successful. Even more, it is a continuing action. Today one can see this across all the nations of western Europe. Worse, to pay for this ever increasing social bill fracas, our collective defences have been denuded of money. As a result we have left ourselves open to aggressive action by belligerent states like Russia. It is despairing to see the y...

Hey, have some good external insulation?. Ah, I see....

Whilst watching TV News this morning, there was a snippet on the Energy debt in this country. We’re told it is a total of some £4billion! On top of that the reporter said that everyone gets charged some £52 extra per annum to cover non-payment. In other words we all who still pay their bills, like me included get charged to pay for those who don’t. So, why do we have a £4billion level of bad debt for energy then? Or are they saying there are so many now who do not pay their bills that even the £52 extra is not sufficient? I just wonder if those who make the rules and are in charge actually do know what the ‘eck they are doing? How many times do we have to point out the mediocrity of those who are in charge? In this country if anything goes wrong there comes a law or rule that increases the cost. There seem to be no action to correct the problems. It is just, people are charged more. Of course it is the easy way, why should those in charge worry? We, the general population that still wo...

Anyone for a bit more land? Well...

Astounding though it may be, Canada has demanded that the American States Washington, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota are returned to them forthwith. As a matter of fact, President Trump has denied they were ever Canadian but Canada’s premier pointed out that most of the States were once. In fact there were no States at all, Trump said something to the tune of that America once was the only nation on the planet and that his great great times sixty something father was the president. He had a standing ovation in the psychiatric hospital of Washington DC. In the meantime Canada has now occupied part of the requested land and is demanding that the US will disband its military. Wouldn’t you think this an interesting scenario? How would America actually react to something like that, especially if an outside nation, let’s say a man like Keir Starmer said that ‘Yes, America should concede land’. Well, this is the same situation, a real one that faces this, Ukraine. The question is also – ...

Something else to talk about...

A lot goes on in the scientific world. Loads of information is published every day, year on end and increasing. That’s great but for ordinary mud-skippers like myself, we are struggling to find a meaning of all that. As it gets it amounts to a type of brain-dead and putting everything away in a dark corner of our minds. Yet the question of life remains. How did it start, why here on Earth? For me and I suspect for others as well, it seems that life is something that automatically happens when conditions are met. When talking about conditions it should be obvious these can and will differ across the vast expanses of the Universe. Hence life will come in many different forms. An example would be Earth’s dinosaurs. Most perished, why? The conditions changed. Whether a wide conflagration changing the climate or overpopulation I will leave that but yes, conditions changed and the then lifeforms could not cope, or change fast enough. The same rule applies to us, humans. Although there is no ...
